Clock-in and patrols for security companies
Prove your guards were on site and did their rounds. They tap the NFC tag at the gatehouse to clock in, tap checkpoints on patrol, and you, and your client, can see every round.
Free for up to 10 people, with every feature. Not a trial.

How it works
On site, on time
Guards clock in by tapping the gatehouse tag, inside the site's fence. Late and not-in-yet alerts reach the site manager.
Every round recorded
Checkpoint tags on the route record each tap. A missed checkpoint flags the shift and tells the managers.
Hours to payroll
Long nights split at midnight, breaks checked, approved timesheets exported to BrightPay, Sage 50 or Xero UK.
Clocked in at the right gate
Put an NFC tag at each site's gatehouse or entrance and require it in the guards' clock-in policy, together with GPS inside the fence. A tap is turned into a pass that only works once, for 5 minutes, so it can't be reused from a photo.
You can ask for a tap to clock out too. If a guard leaves without tapping, their timesheet shows "Clocked out without the tag".
- Tag plus fence for on-site proof
- Tag name on every timesheet line
- Forgotten clock-outs closed and flagged

Patrols your clients can see
Set a route of checkpoint tags, how often a round is due and the leeway. Rounds start with the shift, and finished rounds are checked every 5 minutes.
Give each client a read-only link to their site's rounds for the last 7 days: guards' first names and times, no contact details. Links last 30 days and can be turned off at any time.
- Missed checkpoints flagged once per round
- Patrol report with CSV download
- Signed webhooks for your control room
Nights, rotas and cover
Rotating patterns such as 4 on 4 off, night shifts that stay whole across midnight and the clock changes, and rota checks for rest between shifts and the 48-hour average with recorded opt-outs.
When a guard can't make a shift, post it as an open shift or arrange cover, and the live board shows who's actually on site.
- Rotating patterns
- Working-time checks
- Open shifts and cover

Made for guarding
Lone working
Regular checkpoint rounds give a record that a guard on their own was moving round the site, and missed rounds are flagged to managers.
Night pay
Overnight shifts are split at midnight UK time for pay, so night and weekend rates apply to the right hours.
Client trust
Read-only patrol links show clients the service they're paying for, without giving them access to KiteClock.

Questions
How do I prove a guard was on site?
Require the site's NFC tag, and GPS inside the site's fence, in the guard's clock-in policy. Each clock-in records the tag, the location check and the time from KiteClock's server.
Can KiteClock run guard tours?
Yes. Patrol routes use NFC checkpoint tags. Guards tap each one on their rounds; missed checkpoints are flagged and managers are told.
Can my client see the patrol reports?
Yes, through a read-only link for their site: the last 7 days of rounds with guards' first names and times only. Links last 30 days.
Does it handle night shifts?
Yes. Shifts across midnight stay whole and are split at midnight UK time for pay, including the nights the clocks change.
Do guards need a special device?
No. They use their own phone with the KiteClock staff app, which opens in the browser. Sites without phones can use a kiosk with PINs.
