How it works
Name your earnings rates
Map each KiteClock pay type to the name of your Xero earnings rate, such as "Ordinary Hours".
Export the period
Close the pay period and export with the Xero Payroll UK template.
Into Xero
Enter the lines in each employee's timesheet in Xero, or use them with a Xero App Store timesheet app.

One line per person per day per earnings rate: Employee name, Payroll number, Date, Earnings rate and Number of units in decimal hours, the same shape as a Xero Payroll UK timesheet line.
Paid leave goes in as lines per day too, with its earnings rate (for example "Holiday Pay").

Honest about what Xero allows
Xero Payroll UK only takes timesheets through its own screens, its API or a Xero App Store app; it has no file import for them. That's why this isn't called an import file.

Can I import a timesheet file into Xero Payroll UK?
Not directly: Xero Payroll UK has no file import for timesheets. KiteClock gives you the lines in Xero's timesheet layout to enter or use with a timesheet app.
What's in the file?
One line per person per day per earnings rate: employee name, payroll number, date, earnings rate and hours.
Is paid leave included?
Yes, as lines per day with its earnings rate, unless you choose to leave a leave type out.
Will KiteClock connect to Xero directly?
Not today. A direct link is planned for KitePay, the Kite family's own payroll software.
